For two couples without kids, mid 30's, wanting to get drunk and live it up. I'm recommending a parade for some work people from New York, and I got designated because I am the token Louisiana guy. Only problem is I haven't done the New Orleans Mardi Gras thing in years.

ETA: They will be here from Wednesday, February 22 to Wednesday, March 1.

I doubt going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans in your mid-thirties would be very fun. I was 26 the last time I went and thought it was trashy AF.

Endymion or Bacchus.

I prefer the end of the parade "extravaganza" for any of the krewes over sitting on the street.

Except for Endymion which passes on a different route, all the NOLA parades seems to blend in together for me. It really is all about your location.

I will say that I enjoyed Muses the few times I've been including the year I lived uptown. It's the women's parade with the shoes.

I've been to both but, never made it into the dome.

If mom has balls you went to the wrong parade.

Endymion whenever it isn't storming like it seems to every year.

For your scenario, the best experience would be the Endymion Extravaganza or Bacchus Bash (i.e. The big party after the parade).

Get tickets to the extravaganza.

Stay at the Hyatt. Day drink all day and then head to the Dome that evening.

Are these parties and the balls two different things?

I think catching Muses at a bar in the downtown area (bar on Tchoups) and Orpheus in the 1/4 is as good a MG gets. No idea of the routes now, but when we lived in the Garden district those two were my favorite.
