My Dad spent a lot of time flying the Skyraider (this is a picture of Dad in one). VMF-332 was a "special weapons" squadron (you can imagine what that meant) at the time - they were stationed in Miami a short flight from Cuba during the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Darth looks great but your missing the pools of hydraulic fluid under the inner wing to outer wing attach points as well as those under each vari-ramp inlet

And don’t forget the soot covered rear AB nozzles from those lovely J-79’s that could lead an enemy pilot straight back to your home base

LOL

I've flown with a bunch of guys that were based at Macdill at that time, flying fast movers, it was a daily, sometimes more than once per day that they'd take off, get through the Mach heading right for various points in Cuba to get those Russkies and scared Cubans all riled up, then "peel off" just short of the recognized boundary and go back to base in time for happy hour at the O Club

Love this pic but I’m thinking it’s an Aussie 111 with the dark grey paint job. EF-111’s had a lighter grey scheme but would have UH on the tail for Upper Heyford (or possibly EG for Eglin’s test group or MH for Mountain Home, not to mention the jamming pod bulge on the vertical stab)

I’ll see if I can dig up a pic or two from my times on TDY in Spain. Got some good pics of F models coming in over the range

That appears to be a model of an F4U.

There's a slight difference between that and an F4U.

I’ve always loved the F-15. The sound of three of these taking off together gave me a massive boner

Yep it's an Aussie f-111. If you zoom on left wing you can see the kangaroo roundel

I think it’s safe to say the Murica dominates all things aviation.

The Flying Fortress. That machine brought death from above in bulk packages. Escorted by the P-51, the Grim Reaper had a hard on.
