I'm guessing it's for a rental property maybe?

Will they make ceiling paint any color I want?

If they won't, then tell them that you have been berated by internet friends all morning, and that you're in a very vulnerable place...so you would appreciate it if they could accommodate you this one time.

Don't ask them... tell them. The customer is always right.

Exactly what color are you wanting for this rental property?

I hate using cheap paint for rental property. You have to repaint it more frequently in my experience.

If you know someone that buys a LOT of paint, most likely they have an account with a dealer like Porter/Pittsrburgh, Sherwin Williams, Ben Moore, etc. and get a steep discount.

If so, go through them.

If not and you don't care the color or the product, go into a paint store and ask for mistints of interior paint. How much do you need? If only a little bit, this will be about $5 a gallon.

NEVER pay retail at the paint store. Ever.

Muddy water from a ditch would be close to taupe.

Go to paint store and have them mix a bunch of missed colors

I don't think I'd go around mixing different brands/lines/sheens of paints, but that's just me

Another alternative is to ask if they have any paint that was incorrectly mixed - they often sell if for a deep discount.

Yep. They call it Oops paint at the ones near my house. Usually a color someone didn't like or wasn't mixed properly. You just can't be too picky. We found a gallon of something similar to what we were going to paint the room we renovated and bought it. Good quality paint but was less than $10 for the gallon.

Valspar is inexpensive and their Gripper paint is a great primer. Also, the Habitat Restore sells paint.
