I think it is a sure sign of some mental issues, i.e., they aren't comfortable enough to be alone with themselves.

What is it with women who adore tiny, worthless dogs? I learned the hard way with girlfriends who treat their worthless toy dogs better than they would treat their children. Drove me insane, and gave me insight into their craziness earlier than women who don't carry them with them everywhere they go.

No, you're dog is not a "little diva LOL", she's a hideous rat-dog Chihuahua that stinks, barks at nothing incessantly, and sheds hair all over my house when you come to visit.

Who can honestly find companionship/joy from an animal whose practical purpose (if there ever was any) was bred out of it generations ago, leaving the shell of a working dog that does nothing but take shits and bark at me while I make passionate love to you behind closed doors?

I've had labs my whole life. Now, there's a dog worth giving your love to.

What does the OT think?

That's it's fricking dumb you spent time out of your life to compose that thought.

What's wrong with wanting a dog for companionship? Not everyone wants to come home to an empty house all the time. I live alone and back when I was single my place would've felt much lonlier without her (Boxer/GSD mix).

Teacup dogs are too small but an average sized Yorkie or something can be fun and convenient if you live in an apartment or something.

Preach.

Btw, which one of those half dozen phones in her hand do I have to call to book a night in Paris?

What about men who have small impractical dogs?

Or how about people in general who have impractical dogs of any size?

Is your issue with the small part of the impractical part or the women part?

I'm betting it's the women part.

If the dog makes them happy it isn't worthless.

Dumb thread is dumb.

The vast majority of people that have dogs have them only for companionship and for nothing practical.

I guarantee to you that most people that have dogs like labs for example, aren't using them for any practical reason.

You sound like a miserable person.

I don't understand. Do you dislike the dogs because they're small, or because they're impractical?

If it was a small dog but practical as frick, like if it went to Sam's to do its grocery shopping and ate free samples for lunch while there, or if it only ever ordered water with lemon at restaurants and shite, would that be all right?

I agree. This can't be stated enough really. It's a shame they basically bred a bunch of dogs into being glorified rodents.

Does my 60lb dog mean I'm not crazy?

Thankfully there's still some gentlemen of the old breed to chime in with support.

The day that chihuahua jumps up on the table and orders me a lemon San Pellegrino is the day I apologize to the board.

Each his own...I don't want a pet that can physically hurt me if it goes bat shite crazy. I have been attack twice by friends lovable German Shepherds. I just had bruises and some broken skin in both cases but I could have been severely damaged if they weren't there to call them off immediately. One of them later attacked a women and she needed over 200 stitches and was hospitalized and the dog was put down. Why have a large dog if you aren't using it for some physical work?
