The school office did that or the teachers? The teachers do a great job there. The office at that school can't walk and chew gum. A little secret about students test scores. Active parents in their children's studies makes a world of difference. Banning parents that don't agree with you is counterintuitive to that.
Go to any event they put on. Most disorganized mess ever. No directions for anything. One person will tell you one thing the next person will tell you the opposite. You get a letter saying you need to do something in the school cafeteria. Show up and everything is in a completely different building. I have been to many well run institutions. This is not one of them.

Bonnie Cox was brought the pill and helped Dawn the bus driver bag it in her office. Which was stated by the school board on recording.
The principal failed my son and did not even know what the pill was upon contact. I was then lied to stating the PD was investigating it. I then called Walker PD who knew nothing about it.

Where?
I've admitted there has been a frick up from top to bottom a few times in here.
I think most of the thread has been Catmann and I going back and forth. But hey whatever floats your boat.

I'm a teacher in a different parish but yes a teacher. I do work with two girls who worked at Walker in previous years.
I'm usually invested in the non-teacher sex school threads

I’m curious as to how adults determined the pill was Vyvanse? I’m sure the 5 year old didn’t know what it was.

So, the 5 year old was able to tell the adults what the pill looked like and what markings it had? Was there more than one pink pill rolling around on the floor of the bus?

Nepotism laws do not apply to education positions in Louisiana. There have been superintendents whose wifes were school principals in the same district.

From the mom's post, earlier on this page:

Apparently it was a capsule not a solid pill; kid opened it and possibly ingested some of the substance in it.

Aaaand you dont see a problem with that? There is a very valid reason why nepotism laws exist.

Did the pill look like this?
Posted on 3/23/18 at 12:29 pm to Catman88
Nope, it happens in other professions as well... Apparently there has never been an issue before unless people just accepted it, which is their own fault.
As I mentioned it is across every parish including the one I work in except a parent is on the board and child is a principal.

100% False. There may have been situations that were grandfathered in but In general education does have to follow La state ethics.

Here’s a summary of the nepotism laws in LA. School boards get a pass with hiring, I’m not sure why, but they still have to sign NDA’s and recuse themselves if there may be nemotism to show they are complying with the spirit of the law.

§1119 contains four exceptions to the general prohibition against nepotism. These exceptions are as follows: 1. A local school board may employ any member of the immediate family of a board member or of the superintendent provided that the family member is certified to teach. However, the board member or superintendent must recuse himself from any decision(s) involving the employee. In addition, school board members and/or superintendents who have immediate family members employed by their school system must file a disclosure statement with the Board of Ethics. These statements must be filed each year within 30 days after the beginning of the school year. A disclosure form is available from the Board upon request. Those who fail to timely file the disclosure statement(s) may be assessed a late penalty of $50 per day the statement is late, with a maximum late penalty of $1,500.

Did anything ever happen with this? Did the parent get her child moved to another school?

Seriously. Can we talk about Lester Ricard at Walker High? Why is he suspended?

Because he's not a Walker/LP guy
A more interesting story is the Denham Springs High band director
