Anything that is not from Russia. Things that are both cold and Russian give Napoleon PTSD flashbacks.

I’ve got a different but quite similar version of that Whirlpool and it’s just ok. My three main gripes about it are that the water dispenser doesn’t shut off as quickly as it should and there is no drip tray at the bottom, so you end up with water all down the front of it and on the floor.
You also can’t get ice or water from the front if any other part of it is open which sucks cause I like to take a look inside when I’m getting ice or water.
Also the closure mechanism on the left door sticks open so sometimes when you go to close it it bangs against the right door and won’t close so you have to manually close the mechanism to close the door.
The open door function doesn’t always work either. The doors can be cracked and it won’t beep.
Suddenly I think it was not the greatest purchase after all...

Hate our counter depth fridge. You sacrifice serious cubic footage for looks. I have a 25cu full size in the garage just to make everything work out for us.

My only advice on fridges is to only buy from a company with more than two letters in it's name.

yep. But I find frigidaire fridges to have the least defrost control failures.
Defrost control failure is the number one issue with any fridge. Sadly the timer is very rare on fridges now and everything is CPU controlled now.
LG has a very odd compressor that is famous for blowing it's seals and needing a $600 repair.
GE units seem to have boards that have a life measured in months. Especially if they have a three phase inverter on the Compressor ( a $300 board)
Samsung isn't bad, but i HATE the evaporator cover on the fridges, the drain will get clogged, ice will form and you need a New $175 cover because you cannot get the old one off once it has ice in it's styrofoam.
For french door models, whirlpool. For stand alone fridge and stand alone freezer (smartest option for high end houses) Frigidaire.
For ballers Sub-Zero. A sub zero will last a long time. (mine is about to turn 21)

I've never heard that complaint before. You would do best with a bottom freezer, most of those have no front dispenser you dispense the water inside the fridge. Amana would be my choice there (its a Whirlpool brand)

why would you not want that? I don't have it on my current fridge but I'm looking forward to soon having it on my next. Not having to open the door for ice and water seems handy.
Because I put my old double door fridge/freezer with water and ice in door in my laundry room as a beer/drink fridge and wanted the cleaner look in the kitchen.

I have a whirlpool with French Doors, bottom freezer and 2 drawers dude by side between the 2. Also mist have a tiny ice maker in the fridge part where mine has that and another ice maker in the freezer. Whatever you buy make sure you can get it repaired

stay away from Viking. they're made by whirlpool but nobody will work on them. Actually had one place in BR tell me they quit carrying Viking so they wouldn't have to service the POS's anymore.

Ah. They can get to looking nasty. Especially ones where everything is black in the filling area.

don't consider Electrolux. They suck.

I certainly dont want a counter depth but we are building a house and it is set up for a counter depth. I wanted to change it but the way it is laid out just wouldn't work.
I have another fridge that will be in the garage if I need some extra space.

Whirlpool WRF954CIHZ00
Counter depth, fingerprint resistant Stainless, 24cu ft
You do lose the ability to fit larger items in a CD (forget putting a big pizza box in there), but I needed a CD to fit in my kitchen, otherwise space between the frig and island was a bit cramped. I've had mine for about a year, so I can't speak to the longevity, but I got the extended warranty to cover my arse just in case.

Why do you want to refrigerate your french doors?

Can confirm. My $1500 LG fridge has been a total piece of shite.

While I haven’t had any issues with my Samsung French door model, I can never understand why all LG and Samsung appliances seem to have nearly perfect reviews and lots of them, but you hear a lot of real life accounts of unhappy owners.
