What if you are your own descendant trapped in a holographic psychosis of another life?

What if you are some kid 400 years into the future plugged into a holographic memory simulation of your ancestors and you've slipped into psychosis thinking it is real?
This tech, downloading memories and reliving them virtually, is years away but very possible given what we are already seeing- so what's to say you arent in one now but you've lost all grip on reality?

If you arent aware of it then hologram is your reality. The other "real" reality is entirely irrelevant to your conscious existence.
The same applies with the theory of our universe being a "hologram" or "simulation" being run by some other higher life-form. That fact would be 100%, utterly irrelevant to our existence and sense of reality. Because the hologram or simulation IS our existence. It IS our reality.

I agree. But not in this scenario. In this scenario you wake up when you die, as a teenager - mid-morning surrounding by family and medical professionals trying to re-anchor you into true reality
