What if we're each in our individual simulation

Everyone else: our parents, friends, random strangers are NPC's we interact with. Maybe we're to learn a lesson for the next level of play or maybe for the amusement of God or whatever AI wrote the code.

Maybe you’re a npc in my simulation

Pics of NPC wife? Or sister?

That would explain a lot.
Or.....would it?

Well if we are each in our own individual simulation, then everyone you’re interacting with (including me) must be a bot. And everyone I’m interacting with (including you) is a bot. So.. one of us isn’t real.
Unless this is an MMO kind of simulation.

How many simulated pots have you consumed?
There are a lot of NPCs out there, though.

I love it when one of the fake sim characters in my simulation posts this to try and throw me off the truth.

Were either fine or fricked, which is exactly how we were before.
Think about it.

Then what am I doing in your individual simulation the same way I am in everybody else's
as the most likely wonderful poster that ever existed and the hair

Are we homosexual lovers in all the simulations or just mine ;)

A variant of solipsism.
It makes my wife irrationally angry when I start down that road. I point out she knows it isn't true because she knows she exists, but I can't ever know that she actually exists. Maybe it doesn't help when I respond to everything she says with "that's what my brain would have you say."

I think I’m living in a TV show everyday. Everyone I interact with are paid actors and my house is nothing more than a set for the show.

The scary question is, “What if we’re not?”

I'm team simulation, and this is something I've thought about a bit. I've pretty much landed on it being unknowable, so not worth spending too much time on. And, even believing that we're in a simulation, it really has no outcome on my reality, because what I'm experiencing- pain, pleasure, hunger, fullness, hot or cold, grief or elation- is completely real to me.
eta-- love this topic though, hope the thread takes off

If we are, they need to turn off the machine I'm on and turn it back on again.

Existing for a God’s amusement is essentially what a simulation is.
When you play Sims, do you demand your characters worship you or else they be forced into eternal damnation? That part is a little weird.

That’s called quantum immortality.

Great way to put it.
