If the food is so good why don’t we eat it more than once a year?

My wife isn't big on spending 12 hours cooking dinner.

That’s pretty much every Saturday and Sunday during the Fall/Winter.

For the most part Thanksgiving involves no presents, no commercialism, and no religious overtones.

It's just a great time to spend with family and friends

My family does do it more than once a year. We have pretty much the same meals for Thxgiving, Xmas, Easter. If the weather is not hot for some of the other big holidays we may do it again too (usually way too hot for dressing and other long term bakings for Memorial Day, 4th, etc.).

The snow. The peace and quiet. I usually go for a walk in the woods if the weather is decent.
