What happens if this happened pre internet?

When basically near 0% of the population could work from home. Or does it never really grind to a halt at all because the media can’t spread it like wildfire?

Nothing. Business as usual. It’s hardly noticed.

A lot of people would get Coronavirus, be sick for a little while, and get over it

We'd all be at work tomorrow and maybe have lunch at the Olive Garden

If it was pre internet, the news article would read; “some people get a new kind of flu. It’s not a big deal. Don’t be a pussy about it”

We’d be getting ready to watch the Tigers play in the tournament.

A lot more people die but it’s business as usual

Without social media and endless news this doesn’t become this.

"Mornin' Bob"
"Mornin' Joe."
"How is everything, Joe?"
"Fine. Think I had a touch of flu over the weekend."
"Really? So did my wife."
"I'm good now."
"So is the wife."
"Good to see you."
"You too."
That would be about it.

Not true. Look up the 1918 flu, they shut down school and such too. Businesses closing. Lots of similarities, probably would have been more except we had a world war going on.

Carona Tough Guys v. Corona Sky Screamers wouldn’t happen.
Result would be somewhere in the middle of just about every prediction.

Dan Rather would mention a mysterious new flu strain for about two weeks on the nightly news.

You need to look it up and get your facts straight. Nothing was closed until months after the Spanish Flu first showed up.

No doubt that social media has fanned the flames. Honestly, it would be a true nothingburger and run its course in a few months.

Be similar to AIDS, instead of affecting gays and dope heads it would be grandparents.

We would go to work, some would get the virus and be out of work, it would run thru groups and diff parts of the country, they eventually it would slow/stop. Some people would get it and die, most people would be fine. That's been the mode, except during those crazy viruses in past history.

You would be flipping pages of a Playboy magazine

People would turn to established, reputable news sources like the evening network news, newspapers, CNN, and news radio behemoths.
Of course, apparently those all turned to fake news since Fox came around so thank god for the internet.

What trips me out the most is seeing articles about celebrities saying, "Tom Hanks has tested positive for Coronavirus." Like the mfer has stage 4 cancer or something.

Few similarities, the 1918 epidemic was in an era before antibiotics and many of the deaths were do to secondary bacterial infections.
