Are the bottom pictures merely Potemkin Villages, I swear I barely see live humans when I drive by them, as opposed to the mass of humanity that used to be out and about of the first picture.

Yea I agree.

Wayne was goated for awhile but he lost that status after Rebirth happened. That shite was hot trash. And he hasn't been the same since.

Once Currensy dropped those Pilot Talks it was over for Weezy. Plus he never left the city like Wayne. You can still catch Spitta chilling somewhere in the East to this day if he's not doing a show or something.

I work with a girl who lives in one of the mixed income places. Grew up in St Thomas and now has the opportunity to have her own place there. She makes crap money, but is at work every day with a smile. Works most nights.

From what I've heard, Marrero Commons (the old Magnolia Projects) has a lot of Xavier students. Most of the re-done projects (Desire being the exception) have been surprisingly quiet.

The late 90s / early 2000s, where NOLA had both Cash Money and No Limit, is sort of like Skip winning 5 nattys in 10 seasons. It's something we will never, ever see again.

We were spoiled. A city the size of NOLA should struggle to have 1 good rap stable. To have 2 was utterly amazing.

Where are the next generation of rappers? Atlanta. Most of the NOLA projects are gone, gentrification and Katrina pushed out the rap scene. Now, young black men are either getting B's at charter schools, or getting shot at 17.

Also, it's always fun to look at this list.

They hang out on Canal street all the time. See him and his group a few times a week. Badass cars.
