Googled to see what it looks like and this building is everything wrong with modern architecture, Meaningless, ugly, doesn’t fit the cultural surroundings at all, and in a few decades will be considered universally to be an eyesore that all wish was never built.

This is what everyone thinks about Baton Rouge now.

What is that pergola looking shite on top of the building? I see that more and more and I just don’t get it. Looks like grating on a catwalk on a production platform tat was installed in error.

I mean, at least it isn’t falling down

I love Art Deco, it’s definitely stood the tests of time.

Exactly what you said it was. Ugly arse pergola on tsunami's courtyard balcony

Yep it's all disposable, or to turn for a quick profit.

Gotcha. Thanks. That’s a hideous building IMO.

Building sammiches isn't architecture, bro.

This fricking place is saturated with suck.
Someone posts a legit topic for discussion, and some douche bag rushes to be first to call him gay.
And people wonder why I don't take this place serious.

At least in New Orleans, it seems new houses being built try to mimic some of the traditional style homes. I've actually noticed more New Orleans style homes replacing 60's houses in Metairie and other suburbs.

If we all disappeared one night, and in 500 years aliens come to this planet looking for signs of life, none of them would even know we were here except for a few pieces of concrete slab left over from some cheesy arse strip malls.

That, and we’re locusts. We build temporary structures because we don’t really plan on staying too long in one place. We just devour, and move on to the next area of growth. My city calls it growth. I like to refer to it as relocation.

Commercial, thus municipal, building codes have become aligned. It's a copycat league.

Yep, sell for a quick profit and move on

Yeah OP I agree. Same thing with the food industry and most cities having the same restaurants. fricking sucks to see Popeyes and Churches in every little town I go to. What happened to the real deal mom and pop food joints?

You'll usually find one or two in a small town. I'm more if a diner type myself rather than trendy restaurants.

The Independent- Austin, TX
I always liked the growing skyline there. Until this horrible eyesore of a monstrosity. Who the frick makes these choices and then approves them. Just terrible.
after it's done.
