Those shroom teas ain't to be messed with.
Give me a pitcher of shroom tea, a straw, and two redbull, and I'd sing back street boys to get the ladies riled up

For efficiency, please merge this thread with the "what happened to new orleans east" thread. Thanks.

The entire area of Nicholson/Burbank along Bayou Fountain is just one tropical storm away from being flooded out in a biblical fashion.
That area between the river and Bayou Fountain was and still is a swamp.

1.) Development has spread out even more south
2.) Bidennomics- Inflation has had a huge effect on students. A middle class student only has so much to spend and Democrat policies have made that dollar less valuable.
3.) Section 8 around Tigerland and Ben Hur
Indeed, I was enrolled in LSU's 10-year plan, beginning in 2002 and returning in '08 after a military stint. Upon graduation, I transitioned from Tiger Manor (North Gate, which was undergoing a nice renovation) to Tiger Plaza for its more favorable pricing and inclusive utilities. By my final year, approximately 30% of the LSU bus riders were non-students from the Brightside area.
Even when I departed in 2011, some neighborhoods were improving while others were not, which is typical. However, I'm currently unaware of any non-campus areas on the rise within walking distance. It seems the options are limited to dorms or Nicholson apartments opposite the stadium. With my children approaching college age in six years, I'm evaluating whether LSU remains a viable option and considering if they should commute from home instead of relocating to campus.

This thread blows my mind.
You mean to tell me that the area around the old Mellow Mushroom is now all straight up The Hood and no students live there ?

There's certainly not the booming economy that there was once there. That much is indisputable.

It's just another sign you need to ship your kids away from this shithole for them to get an actual, proper college life experience. Also, you should be doing all that you can to make sure they don't accidentally grow roots on Louisiana. Don't do to them what your parents did to you. Get them the hell out of here.

How is Carlotta St these days? Can I still get all my drug needs met there? It was easy: just find the guy living there who is too old to be in college
