After 9/11? Schools would not allow it. Airports no. Most work places, no.

I have a lot of knives but I don't always carry one. I work in an office, like most suburban or urban guys do. I don't like stuff in my pockets.

Seeing 4 dudes trip over each other to offer up their Benchmade to someone opening a birthday present is always hilarious, though.

My last job had a 3" blade rule on pocketknives. My usual pocketknife's blade is 2.75".

I have no idea about my current job, but still have the same knife.

I stopped carrying one out of habit after 9/11. I did not want to accidentally take one on a plane and get in trouble.

I carried one in high school and college, but once I started working in an office I stopped.

I didn't grow up carrying a pocket knife. But I got so sick of constantly looking for scissors or a knife to open amazon boxes or cut string tape about 10 yrs ago, that I broke down and began carrying a small pocket knife. At first it felt weird because I thought of it as a weapon but now its just a daily tool.

Honestly use it everyday for one thing or another...not saying I must have a pocket knife but it is convenient to have on you when needed.

Fairfield, Texas? That place is pretty damn country. I hated going there for sports in high school.

It's a country bumpkin thing. Usually comes with a camo hat and a Confederate flag bumper sticker.

Or a brand new Tahoe and a Jason Aldean CD

If you don’t have need for a pocket knife at least occasionally then I have to question whether or not you’re a woman.

You may be the most closed minded, prolific generator of broad sweeping generalizations on this entire site. And that’s saying something.

And yes I just generalized Gen X in this thread

I carry one everyday. I am a millennial. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

When it became "socially acceptable" for males to become pussies.

Anyone who thinks carrying a knife is something 'only rednecks do' probably also has to call for assistance to change a flat.

I’ll test some of the younger engineers I work with on occasion, when needed, by simply asking, “My hands are tied, can you cut this real quick with your pocket knife?” Just to recieve a blank stare in return. Then I’ll explain to them the importance of a man needing a pocket knife.

Was embarrassed the other day when I was bagging on one of the boys, and to set an example, walked up to a 50 year old co-worker and he gave me a blank stare as well when I asked what kind of pocket knife he had.
