The gangs used to be organized based on housing projects. There’s be St. Bernard, Iberville, Sf. Thomas, Calliope, etc. However, now with the housing projects largely closed, they still have neighborhood gangs but the lines are different.

Lol no. There are still gangs centered in Marrero Commons, Harmony Oaks, and River Garden. The city just changed the name and put up nicer buildings.

In Nola they've always repped projects and Wards. Organized gangs were never a thing. It was mostly small, 3-6 member local crime syndicates centered around drug distribution made up of childhood friends and family members.

This is kind of like saying Vietnam was too dangerous for the US. If the Bloods and Crips wanted to come in and wipe out all of the cliques until they were in power it would be a cakewalk for them. But it would draw too much heat.
