What does your personal email provider say about you?

I recently heard someone say people who try to conduct business from a Yahoo is like walking into a meeting with Bill Gates while wearing a FUBU jersey and Girbaud jean shorts.
AOL, Hotmail, gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc. Does it matter which one you use? As long as your username is some professional and acceptable combination of your first and/or last name.
I think it would be weird to see someone still with an AOL account. But it wouldn't make me hesitant to work with them.
Even searching the web, you will find random articles insinuating that someone's preferred email provider is a reflection of their status. SEE 2 LINKS BELOW

So what are your thoughts? Not a debate on which service you think is better...but why does it matter which provider another person uses? are HR folks and business people really ignoring emails from yahoo, AOL, and hotmail accounts?

Gmail, but keep a Hotmail for junk items.

Gmail really is wonderful too. Other than wanting to keep your old address, I see no reason to not have Gmail.
And you can even forward your old email into Gmail.

This is true as of today.
Anything else is seen as unprofessional from what I can tell.

AOL is really outdated. Hotmail is really outdated. Yahoo is kind of outdated and kind of sucks in large part because you have to go through a page with a lot of articles and ads which slows things down.
These just mean that you aren't up with the latest and (arguably) best trends. I tried to get my mom to switch from yahoo to gmail, but she is used to her yahoo. She isn't very tech savvy, so getting her to do something that she isn't very used to when it comes to technology is like pulling teeth.
I guess what it says about you is that you may not be very tech savvy or you are resistant to change, which can be a bad thing I guess.

Gmail for business and important stuff
Yahoo for junk mail (i.e. Signing up for shite)
ETA my dad still pays monthly for AOL and I constantly bust his balls over it

Arguably the wealthiest man I know (I'm talking deep, generational Texas oil money) still uses an AOL account.
Gmail for me.

We just recently went through layoffs at our corporate office. Other than productivity, the persons email address was the number 1 determining factor in who got let go.
There are about to be a lot of resumes sent out from @yahoo addresses.

Somewhat of a tangent on the email providers is the widespread use of first and last names in email addresses.
That is common place now, but I remember when we signed up for AOL you were encouraged to avoid any personal identifying information. Basically, everyone's email was like their TD handle @ aol.com. Funny how things have changed and anything but your first.last name or some combination is a bit strange.
I can't tell you the last time I've seen someone with a personal email that was anything other than their first/last name and perhaps a number or two.
