They'll have a similar trajectory to VW vans IMO.

possibly the most comfortable front seat in any vehicle ever made. Like driving in a lazy boy. Great looking vehicle.
I sat in one just one time about 25 years ago and how comfortable the front seats were is still the first thing that comes to mind when I see one.

I've always liked them. Classic.

I was thinking seriously about buying one of those, or an early, full-sized cherokee. After doing some research, I decided to stick with CJ's because it's what I know, and parts are much cheaper and readily available. Working on those wagons can get really costly.
Matter of fact, I had my eye on an '83 Cherokee Wide Track a few weeks ago. After talking myself into sticking with a CJ, I noticed the price of the cherokee had been dropped by half. Turns out it had slung a rod. Glad I didn't go through with buying it.

I’m looking to spend between 6 and 10k. Something not totally shite but that probably needs a little work.

If it’s good enough for Chet Ripley, it’s good enough for me.

What could go wrong with late in life AMC quality?

I'am doing a frame off restoration on a 78. Completely disassembled it last summer and slowly fixing the things they are known for,RUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what mine looked liked when I got it.
