I thought everyone hear drove really nice vehicles? Are they paying them all off with cash even with low interest rates?

I know, right. It's almost like these people are full of shite

Between my wife and I, we have about $830 in notes for our two vehicles. Under $100 on insurance, and maybe $200 a month on gas.

$675 on 2 car notes
$240 on insurance
Less than $100 on gas

Probably a little less than $1000 per month.

My FIL wanted to keep my wife's car on his policy for some reason. He's a State Farm agent and said it's better for him to keep it on his then to not have her on it. We'd be around $150 total if she was on my policy.

I hate borrowing money.

I've borrowed plenty over the years, but I didn't like it.

I financed a 1991 Thunderbird SuperCoupe for 60 months one time and I didn't think the notes would ever stop coming on that bitch.

The car note is much easier to stomach on month 1,2, and 3 then it is on year 2,3, and 4 when that bitch ain't new no more

I hear you on this. After these two are paid off, I don't plan to ever go longer than 3 years again, and not having two at a time.

I did that in my 20s. Note on my wife's car and about a year later note on my suv. Took 4 years but finally got down to 1 payment then a year later down to none. About 4 years ago we ended up selling both of them and we financed hers and paid cash for mine. I'll never have more than 1 payment anymore. 2 years and we're going to be down to none and drive them both paid off for a long time.

True.

Back in 1990, 48 was still the norm. I hated going 60, but that was the only way I could afford the car. ( I was in love )

By note 49, I was wanting a divorce. ( "It's not you, it's me.")

Actually ended up trading it before I paid it off.

All you guys that do this should compare the savings on a $1K deductible.

You'd be surprised how quick you can earn the savings back.

It used to be pretty cheap but in the last month I have purchased a truck (for myself) and added my 16yo to our car insurance.
