I heard yanni. Couldn't hear laurel till that video.

It sounds like a muffled version of Laurel that you could stretch to say was yanny.

It's Laurel. Anyone saying otherwise is stupid.
My wife just said yanny and I punched her.
Just brought mine in to see if she would suffer the same fate.
She hears Laurel. Safe, this time.

No, I just said I heard Laurel. It could be stretched I guess to think yanny, but not really.

Or I'm just calling you out for acting like an audio expert now.

You are legit angry in here, and have been since the beginning
Posted on 5/15/18 at 4:25 pm to lsupride87
I still heard nothing but Laurel in that video.
Yall are crazy.

Now you're an expert on how I'm feeling apparently.
I assure you, I'm not angry.
I assure you, I'm not angry.

here is a quote from a psychologist in another article for you
quote:
So, don’t get mad if you hear “laurel” and your friends hear “yanny.” Even something like hearing is subjective. And if you listen enough, you might begin to hear things the other way, too.

And if you want, play the recording here and turn down the frequency on your speakers,
Low - Normal - High
Now I can hear both

I’m a linguistics professor so I know this is a hoax. People will say they heard yanny instead of laurel just to make you think “are they really hearing something different”? First of all, we don’t hear differently, although we do see color differently. The human ear only hears sounds in different frequencies not pronunciations. People can hear sounds at frequencies from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, though we hear sounds best from 1,000 Hz to 5,000 Hz, where human speech is centered. Hearing loss may reduce the range of frequencies a person can hear. But please do not let this extensive clarification distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

Alright, I can hear something different in that. Still most I got was "yori."
Posted on 5/15/18 at 4:29 pm to jacksajester
I can hear both, depends on which I'm listening for. Yanny is kinda high-pitched and nasally, Laurel is super deep and robotic

So in other words, it's nothing to do with age or quality of hearing...

it's nothing to do with age or quality of hearing
It is a fact people are picking up different frequencies
It is a fact yanny is the higher freqency when the bass is removed that people are hearing
It is a fact higher frequencies are often lost with age or hearing problems
In this case, it may not be due to loss of hearing or age though, it is just your ears/brain is picking up the lower pitch/frequency/bass
Sorry to ruin your day. Your ears are beautiful man

I'm not melting. I'm calling you a retard for acting like an auditory expert when the very expert you quoted says there's no definitive answer to why people hear it differently.
You're being ridiculous dude.
