Depends on the situation. If a motherfricker is trashy, it's trashy. If someone is in a situation that lends itself to profanity, I understand.

The only time I have ever said or done anything in this situation is at my local community neighborhood swimming pool here in Katy Tx.
There are lots of grandmas with grand kids and also my little 8 year old girl swimming and a few middle school and high school kids are playing a pool game and cursing up a storm and screaming at each other.
None of them have a parent there because you only have to be twelve without an adult.
I walked over and talked to my them as a grown man and told them that this is not the time nor place for such language and that they can play whatever game they want but make sure our neighborhood resisdence can enjoy themselves.
I received a few rolled eyes and some "whatever's" but also a few "yes sirs" because they understood.
Did not have a problem the rest of the day
You must pick your battles with things like that.

When I am by myself I usually ignore it. When I am with my 4 year old daughter it becomes an issue to me. I don't curse in front of her and I do not want her picking up on it from some POS with no respect for others.
Unfortunately, especially in New Orleans, people do not tend to take being told to please stop well. I almost got in a fight with some older guy with about 4 teeth because he was MFing this and that at the snowball stand I took my daughter too. I asked him to please watch his mouth in front the children. You would think I called him a bitch the way he flipped out. crazy.
