Nothing, it's words, get over yourself.

Do I go around cursing aloud in public? No, but you are not entitled to not hear vulgarity when in public. Stay home.

OK? Then why didn't you just say spews vulgar language in front of anybody

I guess I didn't say "anybody" because I take it on myself, as a man, to stand up for women and children in a case that I described. As a man, I can put up with the language cause I can dish it out as well. I'm not saying that I am holier than thou, I'm just saying I respect women and children in regards to abusive language.

I shake them down...it's a frivolous attempt to hold society together, but manners should be upheld...

Wait. Now it's abusive language? Well that's a different story, and it doesn't even need to include vulgarity.

Why? Are they screaming profanities?

I would probably just move along about my merry business. Why do you care?

I speak however I please, others can do the same. If they want to cuss, then they can. If I'm at the children's museum or somewhere designed for children I would have a problem.

Women don't need you to protect them from foul language. You are not some crutch for women's delicate ears.

If you asked me to stop cussing on the street I would probably look at you, turn around and continue doing whatever it was that I was doing right before you rudely interrupted my life.

I generally ignore them. Socially incompetent people aren't going to be turned by reason.

Profanity around my wife isn't what I'm talking about. She's a grown woman and doesn't need me to cover her ears. Vulgar talk about sex and other guy talk is what shouldn't be spoken in front of women. My kids hear their share of profanity and I think it's unnecessary. I've never understood the concept of using profanity in a public place, but then again, I'm not white trash. Some curse words (shite, damn, etc.) are common language. I don't consider those vulgar. It's when somebody is dropping the F bomb or screaming Goddamn that bothers me.

So what you're saying is that what is vulgar and offensive to you is likely different to what is vulgar and offensive to others.

Which is why people should mind their own business.

Well clearly you think one of these words is far worse than the other.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Little Johnny was out of school and constantly getting under foot. Finally, his exasperated mother told him: "They're building a new house across the street; go over there and watch them, learn something."

So Johnny goes out and watches for a few hours. When he comes back in, his mother asks him: "So, what did you learn?"

Johnny: "Well, I learned that you take this fricking plate and fasten it to the goddamn slab. Then you take a fricking stud and you toenail it into that sonofabitch."

Johnny's mother (horrified): "Such language!!! You go right outside right now, young man, and cut me a switch."

Johnny: "I ain't cutting no fricking switch, that's the electrician's job."

I was on South Beach in April with my little son, leaving the beach and on the path in front of me was a group of 20-ish black girls and one gay black guy. The one girl was about 4'11" and 250+ lbs. and was cursing up a storm, but not only that, she was screaming it, not just saying it. Her friend said saw my son and said, "Shhh! There are children around!" and she was just like, "Oh well! I don't care!" I told her she was trashy and told her friends that you shouldn't bring trash to the beach. She said, "Oh well! Don't bring a kid to the beach then! This is a public beach! I can say what I want!" I told her she needed to get her big arse off the beach and on a treadmill, and that she better be careful because someone was gonna mistake her for a whale and try to roll her back in. She just continued to walk away saying, "Oh well! Oh well!"
