I'm old enough to remember when Chimes had a brass bar, and the entrance was on the corner of the building.

This dude could've gotten laid at the MacMillan Toys cocktail party if he wasn't such a child about it.

I was old enough to order beers there at 18.

fricking Syd took my first beer from me after law changed in Varsity one night. What a dick move to do that to a teammate.

How fancy is it?

Cocktail attire mean wear a coat and tie. You have more color and pattern options than business attire.

Don't let the plant operators on this board tell you not to wear a tie.

Delete that. That's the last bastion of a gentleman, don't give it away.

Agree about the tie. As much as I hate them, cocktail attire indicates something more formal than dressy causal.

Lol just trying to help my man. I'm not even fashionable by any means but I'm not showing up to a cocktail attire event in a button down and coat with no tie.

Make sure you put an angle on that pocket square.
Have it a bit higher towards the lapel.

Also, it can have a complementary color to the tie, but it should never match the tie exactly.

Cocktail attire requires a tie. Either a suit or blazer and slacks but always a tie.

And a suit is never worn without a tie. If you are going to a function sans tie wear a sport coat or blazer and slacks.

And dress your age.
