Been thinking about trading in the Tahoe on a Subaru Crosstek. Badass little SUV for under 30k.

Not stock for stock. Nitrous and a drag radial on the new SS and your brothers subbie wouldn't stand a chance unless heavily modded(bigger turbo, e85, downpipe, tune, full bolt on). Those new SS's have gone 10.5ish with just nos, tire and basic tune.

Have a 2013 Outback. Its the best vehicle I have ever owned. Very solid and practical. Won't buy anything other than a Subaru from here on out.

I've got higher ground clearance in mine than a Silverado, weigh 1,000 LB's less, and have AWD.
I've got the bigger engine in mine too.
It's performance, reliability, etc. are off the charts. I've got the 2016 luxury interior too and it's very very nice.

I like the heck out of 'em and they hold value extremely well.
AWD is awesome for getting around a track, but it's a lot to give up that much horsepower.
