The majority of men who think a rise in traditionalism in family life or women would be a net positive aren't desperate for their wives to be tied to the kitchen all day.

Most of the guys talking about stuff like this are probably far more motivated by their fatigue of modern women sneering at them over their social media consumption than they are having some enslaved 50s housewife.

My quoted language has literally nothing to do with your response.

I'm talking about how the men want to live and how that often isn't traditional.

Someone else earlier made this point but I'll include it here in addition to the "socially modern" point I made.

These men often don't cut their own grass, fix their own cars, fix up the house, and do all that traditional male roles that occurred in traditional family life.

It's not about "enslaving women". It's about hypocritical men who want to live as a modern male while wanting a women to be traditional. That isn't going to work, long term. If you want a wholly traditional setup and both buy in? Sure, that could work. But these guys want their cake and to eat it, too.

I think both things are true.

I think it is "harder" out there, at least if you're searching for a wholesome spouse. I feel like you do about marriage and its inherent value and that this incel attitude is unhelpful.

But just like I think there are some very real obstacles for young people trying to make money, own homes, etc. while simultaneously thinking the softness of the current generation only makes those things harder - I think there are some serious issues confronting traditionally-minded men when it comes to finding wives in this era.

Personally I think if you don’t see the value in marriage, you should just stay single.
yep because if you don’t value it - you won’t have any reason to work on the marriage and make it work

Most women do.

Many wont touch this line but it's a true one.

I dont see many men in my neighborhood that cut their own grass. Almost none to be exact. And honestly over the years Ive seen more women cutting grass in general.

That said, women's roles arent subsidized in large part unless you have cleaning service, maid, etc.

I think a lot of what you say holds true.

Also, yall know me, I am hard on women folk.

Sure it does

A lot of "traditional males" with SAHM wives didn't do this stuff, they hired people to do it and took their wives on trips and had a social life outside the home that extended to their domestic wife and had groups of like-minded friends.

So this idea you're talking about - where the average traditional male wants his wife to be some super traditional recluse while he gets a modern social life - doesn't have any resemblance to what I see in the real world.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm saying most men don't have to go full on incel to have a toxic mindset and worldview and that ensures constant failure.

Well the urban/rural divide creates a huge issue here, IMHO.

This somewhat goes back to my point about men not wanting to be traditional themselves. You're going to have a much more likely time finding that traditional spouse in a rural setting due to culture. Those settings are more socially conservative, religious, etc. But there is a tradeoff. Those settings aren't conducive to modern jobs, your SOL will be less, and you'll have to be a "man's man" to make up for it. You also are less likely to find matching levels of intelligence/education, which causes its own friction in relationship dynamics.

The fricking rich people did

Go look at living standards and other activities for your typical middle class family in the 50s and 60s. It's not what you described above.

Because those relationships are naturally toxic and combust pretty quickly

If that’s your thing and she brings it, then what does the guy bring?
