What if that professor is going to let his TDS affect how he grades and calls on certain students or other actions towards them. The Socratic Method beat down on students is very different than a TDS meltdown on students.

If accurate the professor needs to be investigated to make sure he is not using his power over the students’ future as a state employee to harass, hold to different standards, and/or restrict their 1st amendment rights.

Jill pushed herself away from the buffet line long enough to make a statement?

Yes, telling your students to go frick themselves is a high level of hurt feelings.

If he actually did that he deserves to get in trouble but zero chance that’s what happened. Somehow he has existed at lsu law for 20 years or whatever without any incidents like this, including the first Trump tenure, yet the second Landry gets elected we’ve had two instances of professors being punished. This is a Landry thing not a Trump thing.

He told them to go frick themselves and “frick the governor too”

Somebody wanted to buy a favor with Landry and sent him the recording.

But I heard there is larger movement is LSU admin over who did/did not refuse to participate in the firing.

I feel like I don't even know who the profs are at the law center anymore. Trahan and Smokin Joe Bockrath may be the only ones left from my time. Hard to imagine that place without Maraist, Cheney Joe, Litvinoff, L'Enfant et al.

I wouldn't be so sure. Levy is actually a really nice guy but very very left and in the past has struggled with remaining professional in that regard. I think he's been there closer to 10 years. I was at the law center when he started in 2011 or 2012.

I don’t have first hand knowledge of what happened , and I never had Levy, BUT the guy spearheading the pro-Levy movement is a big pro Trump guy and says levy is being railroaded.

Did the school comment that it was related to a statement made in class? So far I have only seen his lawyer say that. It’s hard to imagine Professor Bryner going unscathed (despite Landry’s public remarks) and Levy getting removed from teaching.

It’s all blind grading.

During my time there had the late Paul Baier for Con Law 2. He asked my thoughts on a case and I said I sided with the conservative majority. Still remember the case, Burns Baking. He was outraged and said it was better to not say anything than to talk and have people know you are an idiot. Got the second highest grade in his class that semester.

I was there 2011-2014 and had Levy for torts. Nice enough guy, but definitely gave off the “I’m a high minded liberal from NY and came down here to teach you uncivilized hillbillies a thing or two” vibe.

Here’s some insight I remember from over a decade ago:

- he got into it with a couple of frat boys about being a vegetarian on Tuesday. The next class on Thursday, he skipped the torts topic of the day and gave us a 45 minute PowerPoint presentation on why we should all be vegetarians, too.

- we only got halfway through the torts book by the end of the semester, meanwhile John Church had his students in one of the other sections done with the book like a week early. I never had a good handle on torts because Levy was a TERRIBLE teacher. I taught it to myself for the bar exam and ended up doing ok.

- he brought his dogs to campus/class often, and they shite on the floor more than once.

I'm so glad you posted that. I remembered something like that but couldn't recall the exact scenario. We must have been in the same section. Had him for torts that year as well. From what I recall his first semester faculty evaluation was during the class he went through his vegetarian PowerPoint. We were all convinced he'd be let go after that.

I have no problem with a student paying $20,000+ per year for a degree making a complaint about a professor taking up class time to spew their political nonsense.

I can’t remember the professors name, but he taught the admin law class. His last two weeks were blocked off for him to pontificate about climate change and how the residents of new orleans were idiots living on the Isle of Denial.

It’s no wonder kids get out of school and have zero idea of how to actually practice law.

He hasn't been fired, so I'm guessing the rest of this is exaggerated BS, too.

I know who you’re talking about, can’t remember the name, and yes he was an insufferable and made all sorts of those comments. I rmeber him disparaging Anna Pou too. Guy sucked.
