What credos do you live by?

I mentioned yesterday that I live by credos.
One of those credos is "No pay, no work" which a lot of you slammed me on.
If that credo is so bad what are the credos you all live by that are better?
My grandpa had another good one: "A bucket of wheat, the more tender the meat. A bat in the cave, a bald guy named Dave"
It sounds confusing but makes sense upon explanation. The more resources you gather for yourself, the easier life is to "cut through". And the more bats you have in your cave, the higher chances eventually you will be as unappealing to everyone as a bald game named Dave.
Here is one I like to live by: "If she has had sex with a bunch of guys, then you need to look elsewhere and pass her by"
