It's hard to say without having practical experience living there, I think even visits don't tell you everything you would need to know.
There's lot's of issues with this country and those things seem to be trending for the worst, but still very high quality of life and an enjoyable life for me here.
But I'm sure I could find a couple of other places I'd prefer to live out the rest of my life more. Just don't have enough experience or information to say where.

I was born on a military base as a dual citizen of the UK. It has done nothing for me

Australia. They’re basically British rednecks over there.

Switzerland.
Close enough to southern Germany to appreciate the attitudes and fun of Bavaria, but small enough to get away with being "neutral".

Croatia, Slovenia, Italy
Would say Romania, but that place was hellish up the 90's. Now, it is very nice.

I was born in Croatia while my mom was visiting family there. Had dual citizenship at the time with Yugoslavia. Just so happens that I turned 18 while the wars were going on there in the 90's and had to renounce my dual status so that I didn't have to do mandatory military service during a war.
Joined the Air Force reserves in '99 and ended up going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq anyway.
Now, which country do I wish I was born? Monaco or Switzerland.

Not sure anyone would care when you are living there and have all NZ has to offer.
Obsession with left and right on this board is out of control.
