when you wake up, pour 3 fingers of beam. shower. get dressed. pour 3 more fingers of beam. go to class. come home. more beam. then meet up to pregame. then go to work at a bar where you drink the whole time. then get off work. then late night til 5am drinking. pass out. repeat.

Awesome! I only consume 7 a week, 1 glass per day:

Its much like being 'the One'....like Neo. No one can tell you that you are...you just have to figure it out for yourself. I wasn't. Never was. Until I was. 2 years and 2 months now, one day at a time.

I can drink everyday as long as I don’t get drunk?

Sometimes it takes me 6+ beers to get drunk.

So let’s say I? have 5 beers a day? That’s okay?

It's just a painful feeling in your gut and nothing takes it away but booze.

Yup. As soon as I'd crack a beer, drink a glass of wine, or take a pull from the bottle, it instantly disappeared. Very scary, to be honest.

I think this is actually required to meet a clinical diagnosis of addiction. There has to be a consequence to your drinking that is ignored (losing a job, relationship, DUI). You can have a substance abuse problem but not be considered an alcoholic.

There's a difference between abuse and addiction. Addiction is unmistakable. You cannot function without it or you will get sick

I would describe it as a physical compulsion combined with a mental obsession. They fu,action together....and being or getting 'sick' isn't necessarily part of it...imho

I'm with ye old tiger. The sickness comes when you are far gone. It progresses as you get older. Alcoholics tend to have an obsession of the mind. Doesn't have to be you can't physically go with out it.

Haha! frick that guy. My doctor has half a bottle of single malt a day and runs a sub seven-thirty mile on trails. I can't keep up with him on trail runs. Your doctor is a cuck.

Not stopping when you want. I feel I have a problem. I'm responsible and don't drink during the week and don't start drinking until later at night on weekends because I know even only one or two and I'll drink till I go to bed. If I have a beer at noon, I'll drink all day even if I didn't want to. If I go out to dinner or something and have 2-3 drinks, it won't stop there. I'll pick up a six pack on the way home and it'll be gone when I go to bed.

I don't do anything wrong or cause problems, I just don't want to stop. I've gotten to the point I typically just don't drink because I know myself too well.

When you repeatedly just say you'll have one drink...but always end up getting shitfaced you're an alcoholic. Its when the booze has control over you.

If you think that there is any event that ‘necessitates’ drinking— then you might be an alcoholic.

A)The inability to control your drinking once you have the first drink.

B) The inability to make the decision to not take the first drink.

C) See item A
