Who knows what transpired beforehand. Most people are shitty dog owners so it doesn't really surprise me.

I would have taken out my knife and slit the dog's throat.

I've had a stray dog pick a fight with our kangal. He's over 150lbs and can handle himself.

I've broken it up before.

I'm a big guy, I can tell you when hitting my dog in the top of the head with an open hand jab, he didn't flinch. When I hit the stray, he went limp.

It isn't as easy as you think to subdue an animal when their blood is up.

I've broken up fights before. I know you're not supposed to, but I have. Once between my dog and a Doberman (my brother's), and another between two wolf hybrids.

I almost tore my shoulder out pulling my dog and the Doberman off of each other.

Oh Look ...the pit bull of "grammer" police. Now we know why hippie's went out of style in the 70's. They got too focused or ...puff puff..easily distracted, on the wrong things.

I didn't mean it like that. A dog attacking another dog is bad, but that happens. A dog attacking a human being unnecessarily has to be put down 10 times out of 10.

And all dogs have an attack instinct to some degree. Doesn't matter if it's a half pound toy dog or a 200 lb St Bernard. They're all still descended from a predatory animal. This attack instinct is stronger in some breeds and not as sting in others.

There are breeds that will only attack out of protection. I get what you are saying, but pittbulls are bred to fight and that puts them on a whole other level than other types of dogs because when the attack, they don't just attack, those frickers are doing some damage.

I love dogs, but I would never in my life own a pittbull.

I have an uncle who does AC work. This was last summer. He went to someone's house who had a pitbull tied up in the backyard. When he walked past it, he said that dog went nuts. He told the owner that he was concerned that if the dog got off his chain that he would attack him. The owners told him "he is a good dog. He isn't going to hurt anyone, he is just being protective".

A few days later one of his workers went out to finish the job. Evidently he walked too close to the dog and the dog pounced on the guy's foot. Luckily the dog was chained up and that was as far as it could go, but the guy's foot was bleeding.

I don't know all the details, but the guy called the police to get a police report of what happened and the owners told the police the guy instigated the dog, etc.. So the people who own and defend them are just as bad.

I'm not really an advocate but my pit would never harm another dog or human being. Cats and other small animals are a different story however

You have no way of knowing this with that with a Pit. Unless they are really well trained they could snap at any time.
