Go watch the video I posted. The dog was Beaten over the head with a baton, kicked, punched, tazed by two police officers at once, and sprayed with an entire can of pepper spray. The dog is not affected.

I feel like I could do a fair amount of damage to a dog if it was attacking someone.

Dogs are some solid built animals and are "dumb" enough to ignore pain when they are fired up. This is why Taser's and Pepper Spray don't work on them sometimes.

I was walking my Black Lab when he was attacked by a large Akita. It came from my blind spot and hit my Lab so hard that it dragged me (by the leash) about eight feet. My dog never had a chance. The Akita was going to town on him and I couldn't physically pull it away. I tried to cut the Akita's throat with my Spyderco knife but couldn't get through the fur on its neck. I then stabbed it three times in the side (4.5" blade). Blade went all the way in twice with no effect. Dog finally ran off when I hit it in the rib with the knife on the third plunge. I was absolutely amazed at how little damage I did to the dog. My guy barely survived the attack.

Because it's a fricking pit bull, baw. I know several people who have been attacked completely unprovoked by "sweet and docile" pit bulls.

No. The only time a pittbull will attack is if it senses its owner is "trashy". If the dog identifies its owner as "trashy" this somehow enrages the dog and makes it snap. But if the owner is not "trashy" then a pittbull is the best pet in the world, capable of doing everything from fetching your slippers, babysitting young children, to solving worldwide hunger. Just go to Facebook and you'll see.

I'm not really an advocate but my pit would never harm another dog or human being. Cats and other small animals are a different story however

Bingo. Pittbulls are the sweetest, most loving dogs you'll ever see.

Right up until the moment they're not.

I'm sure that sweet lady sitting there crying trying to get her Didndu dog to quit attacking felt the same way.

This. Until pit owners are held criminally liable for the carnage caused by these animals you'll keep seeing this bullshite.

We don't have Didndus of any form in my neck of the woods, baw. Just good ole responsible pet owners and civilized pitbulls roaming these wicked streets and trails

I urge you to watch the entire video and see what it really takes to get one of these dogs to stop.
It in their DNA to do just that once the trigger is pulled. I cannot see how people defend these dogs when their are 1000's of OTHER breeds of dogs to have as a good pet. Its not like there are not other similar options except for the "fight to the death" gene they have built in them.

Do you even English?

Yeah, there are 1000's of other breeds to adopt or purchase, but pitbulls are still being born every day. Until that stops many will need good, loving homes. I provide that and my dog is awesome.

The problem is too many people nowadays have blurred the lines between animals and humans. They forget animals lack the ability to act on reason like us and instead act on instinct.

And all dogs have an attack instinct to some degree. Doesn't matter if it's a half pound toy dog or a 200 lb St Bernard. They're all still descended from a predatory animal. This attack instinct is stronger in some breeds and not as sting in others. It just so happens that pittbulls have an extremely dangerious combo of a stong (and unpredictable) attack instinct coupled with the ability to deliver a devestating attack.

It's like I always say in these threads, if your neighbor's beagle attacks, it's most likelike some antibiotic ointment and a couple bandaids. But when a pittbull attacks you're lucky if it's only reconstructive surgery.

It just doesn't make sense to have these animals around people. It's like your neighbor deciding they want a cat. But instead of going to get a tabby from the rescue shelter they instead get a mountain lion.
