What are Your Views of Conscientious Objectors/Pacifists?

Me personally, I believe if your home, country, family are under attack or threatened to be under attack and you don't take a stand or do something to help your cause that you're selfish.
Take the British in WWI with the white feather movement, some of those guys were pacifists and they knew that hundreds of thousands of their fellow countrymen were dying in heaps and they weren't over there helping with the cause. I do find that selfish in a way.
I can understand to a certain extent being a CO on religious grounds, though.
It's a difficult subject to broach though and I can see the other side's argument, though I really can't agree with them.

Depends on the situation- Vietnam was completely acceptable. Same as Iraqi freedom or whateverits called.

No problem with it. There are plenty of support jobs that need to be done. Now CO's that are opposed to any service at all? I'd limit that to those with legitimate religious reasons.

If it's legit, it's hard to argue and I think it infringes on your liberties if their objection is denied. With that said a lot of it, I'm, is people being cowards or wanting to gain attention from "sticking it to the Man"

That's why I said I think it's selfish, not that they should be imprisoned or anything of the sort.

I hate the idea of a draft. If your country is being attacked and not enough citizens respond then that says it all. A draft should never be required unless your country is under direct attack.
On the other hand making heroes out of Vietnam CO's is stupid too. A lot were legitimate. Many, probably the majority, were not.

So you wouldn't have been cool with the draft in WWII? The only time the country was attacked was Pearl Harbor and that wasn't even a state yet.
I think the draft is necessary in a huge war like that.
