Me personally, I believe if your home, country, family are under attack or threatened to be under attack and you don't take a stand or do something to help your cause that you're selfish.
When was the last time our nation was truly under a legitimate attack from a foreign nation? Obviously, our involvement in WWII was justified, but at the same time, even considering Pearl Harbor, I wouldn't have felt like my family was at risk of attack. But I can see why the concern for the possibility of Axis powers winning would at least provide a threat of some sort, even if not a direct military threat.

But for a war like Vietnam, I don't blame people doing whatever they could to get out of serving, even draft Dodgers. The only people I blame are those who sent people to risk their lives for an unjustified cause.

but my belief is that if you feel that way leave the country you are living in and go somewhere else.
Well where could they go, because by that logic, they wouldn't belong anywhere. Maybe Switzerland? Antarctica?

Unjustified? Were there errors in judgment, commitment, etc., well yea. Communism was and still is a threat and that is why we went in. A corrupt government in S. Vietnam hurt the effort badly.

Nah, not gonna argue with you. Just remember this, the communist are still alive and well and many have a pretty good foothold in America now. So you may get your wish before all is said and done.

When did you decide you would not have felt like your family was under any threat following Pearl Harbor? Would you have felt that way if you knew they were in Alaska? Would you just have given up Pearl Harbor? Then there's Germany, we were supplying Britain and allies with equipment and munitions, would you have been against that as well? Any problem with Africa and the Middle east falling to Germany and Italy?

Are you conflating isolationism with CO/Pacifists?

PS: We wouldn't be here punching keys or touch screens if we had ignored all of this, don't you know.
