So you wouldn't have been cool with the draft in WWII? The only time the country was attacked was Pearl Harbor and that wasn't even a state yet.

You don't consider 9-11-01 as our country being attacked?

I respect groups like the Quakers and the Amish. They have a deep religious belief which instructs them that killing other human beings is wrong, no matter the reason. They serve their Lord before their country and I can't criticize them for that.

CO who serves in medical corps. A+

I accept that there are legit pacifists who do not want to facilitate warfare.

I can understand that and respect that, I just can't get how when thousands of your own countrymen are dying or god forbid somebody in your family is about to get killed in front of you, how can you just let that happen?

We have not had the case of war on our shores.
The islamic fundamentalists killed all the buddhists on the eastern shore of india. "Plucked like ripe cherries".

They should be left alone. Conscription is the government stealing the labor of its citizens instead of paying market price.

If there is a true existential threat to the country, there will be enough volunteers, and if not, our society doesn't deserve to survive.

I don't, that's why I'm saying I don't understand it.

What experience do you have with it since you ask.

if you have not had the experience then how can you offer an opinion?
you'll notice that I did not

your country was attacked 16 yrs ago and many non combatants were murdered in cold blood. why didn't you enlist? that's the closest your country has come to war on its shores since 1941

16 years ago I was 8, so I couldn't have enlisted. Don't worry though, I did enlist 4 years ago.

Idk, how much shite do you opine on that you haven't experienced? Do you have an opinion on WWII or Vietnam? How about abortion or climate change? What is your experience in any of those things?

The thought that you have to have the experience to have an opinion is asinine.

None
I recognize that until I experience the need to make a decision I cannot judge the decisions of others

as for WWII I'm glad we won, whether I'd have fought without a draft I have no idea
Vietnam I wish had never happened, whether I'd have fought if drafted I have no idea
abortion, I have experience with
climate change I have experience with

There's a movie coming out of a CO that was a medic in WWII and came out a hero.

Hard to look into someone's heart, but my belief is that if you feel that way leave the country you are living in and go somewhere else.

You've had an abortion? Or are a doctor that performs abortions?

climate change I have experience with

You're a climatologist or any other -ist that has to do with that area of expertise?

Then why are you on this site? Where everybody voices there opinions on various matters whether they have expertise on the subjects or not.

You might be the most boring poster on here if you are so afraid to opine on topics.
