Arguably, New Orleans has the greatest disparity of strengths and weaknesses of any city in the US. That's what makes it one of the better cities in the US.

It certainly isn't for everyone, but if you can roll with the punches, Nola is tough to beat.

True, there is an element of those types in NOLA. I think that compared to the insurrablue twats in NYC

NOLA has nothing on NYC in that regard, I can promise you.

agree with everything that you wrote except that I don't find NO people to be down to earth...I actually find them to be pretty brash and condescending.

That's the uptown crowd. The ones that don't actually contribute to the culture of New Orleans but simply reap its fruits and talk down to those from the West Bank.

Pros: Baton Rouge is only an hour away; Lafayette is only two hours away. There is a nice airport where you can fly to nice cities.

Cons: Everything.

Pros: One of the most fun cities in the country. Food is unbelievable. (2nd best behind Laffy/cajun food) Mardi Gras and Music festivals.

Cons: Crime and the roads are terrible. It is also pretty hard to navigate around sometimes

Add low wages, bad schools, terrible white collar job market, and routine hurricane threat to the Cons list and you'd pretty much have it.

Come on. You have to be fricking kidding me. I love the food in Laffy, but you can't compare the restaurants in the respective cities.

How is that a con? What other city in this state attracts young educated people to move there? The answer is zero.

Well, most of the young people are a little hipster in the country. I'm a fan of college educated people choosing to live in New Orleans, when they could live elsewhere. I'm one of the most un-hipster people possible, but educated and employed people are welcome.

I hang with people from all over the country who are here teaching school and working other jobs. Why is that bad?

Considering this is the first time since the early 70's that white people that can afford to pay for private are sending their kids to public schools, I'd say you don't have a fricking clue what you are talking about. #holyrunonsentence
