First off I would like to say this isn't a super religious thread, but if you goals are that its completely acceptable to mention and discuss it

1. No Drinking ( Unless I'm attending a Date Party and of course SB)

2. No Fast Food

3. Start working out daily

4. Start Attending my classes more regularly

5. Start going to church again

I usually never participate in Lent, but this year I want to focus on making myself a better person, at least a healthier one

None. That's one of the perks of being a protestant. Why don't you try giving up sinning if you're trying to please the Lord, and see how that works out for you. There's a reason Jesus had to come give up his life for our sins, and I guarantee it has very little to do with not eating meat on fridays, or anything you "give up" for lent. All you have to do is accept the awesome gift given to you, bc nobody is worthy and nobody can earn it, period.

Says the guy who flips the frick out every 3 posts and cusses out random people on the internet over a game played by college kids. Every single Protestant I’ve ever met who uses the phrase “if you’d like please the Lord” then goes on a huge holy roller rant is a huge hypocrite and a huge pile of shite behind closed doors. Good luck with that

Party, drink, and gorge yourself and then all of sudden just stop to be a good little Christian? How stupid is that? On top of that, this whole season until Easter(Eostre) is Pagan in origin...you can have it!

You do realize the Super Bowl was played on 2/4/18?

It did not occur during Lent.

And I’m pretty sure that Date Parties are not recognized by any ecclesiastical group as bona fide exceptions to Lenten behavioral restrictions.

The “Ole Miss Fan” thing was a strong clue but you really aren’t very bright, are you?

Also I’m not going by what the church thinks is right and wrong, I’m doing it for myself

I'm Protestant and this isn't far off. Quite honestly, there is some things that make some Catholics deserve some of the hate they get, but Lent is not one of them. Even if it's for selfish reasons what's wrong with trying to better yourself? Obviously we should try and do that all the time, but let's live in the real world here.

I don’t celebrate lent but every year I mess up my new year resolution at Mardi Gras and pick it back up after.

Back to drinking 1 night per week and cooking all my meals.

I am not not doing anything just because it is Lent. It’s just a general time of year where I try to be more healthy. This includes eating better, working out more, and drinking less. Holidays and Mardi Gras being done just gives me a nice stretch where not a whole lot is going on. I also want to play golf more.
