Mine, too. But I know that I didn't do it alone. I had a lot of help in the first few years. I was never able to quit on my own. Hard to believe it's been as long as it has been. I am very lucky/fortunate/blessed whatever term people choose to use.
Well said. I didn't know you were in recovery. I always like to hear stories of those who have overcome. I don't speak much on it but I always like to hear insight from other posters.

While in college in 1971, I led my chapter of Delta Tau Delta fraternity in organizing a 10 day around the clock flag football game on the LSU parade ground .
People paid to play and we raised $15,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Players included Edwin Edwards when he was running for governor, bunnies from the New Orleans Playboy club, Bert Jones who was playing at LSU at the time and on the final day Bear Bryant and Charlie McClendon.
Bryant and McClendon played on the Saturday morning of the LSU-Bama game and Bud Wilkinson and Chris Schenkel covered it and it got a mention during the nationally broadcast game that night.
Before the game, I presented a check to Jimmy Taylor who accepted it on behalf of the MDA. The last 15 minutes of the game were played in Tiger Stadium.

Married 33 years this April to only wife I have ever had. Raised three wonderful children and they are our pride and joy. Still active as heck as I approach senior years and best friend is brother - close family. That's it, made me proud typing that.

Didn't get pregnant in high school.
Graduated from college.
Didn't die from a drug overdose.
Been a pretty decent wife, ya know, to my second husband.
