You control the messaging to your children.
This concept seems lost on this generation.
Are you that naive? The only way that you can legitimately control the messaging to your children is to lock them up and not allow any interaction with society.

If it’s for the kids, why does every kid feel betrayed when they find out Santa isn’t real?
I've never felt this way nor do I know anyone who has. I'm thinking some folks here need some counseling, but it's not because of believing in Santa.

We loved Santa as kids. Even as adults, if we were at our parents house at Christmas we had Santa gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.
That being said, my 10 year old niece announced to us that she knows Santa isn’t real. Followed by she wants a VR headset, Minecraft for PC and a bunny for Christmas. And not that plushy bullshite, a real bunny that can hop and twitch its nose.

I’m still bummed my kids aren’t 6-10. The sweetest part of a lifespan, being a Dad. Other people come and go and end up being footnotes but your kids are your masterpiece. Let em believe in the magic, they have the rest of their lives to be bludgeoned by reality.

I was raised American Christmas. I don’t believe much in either these days.

We haven’t told our kids about Santa, the Easter bunny, or the tooth fairy.
The first two because they would detract from the celebration of the birth and resurrection of Jesus and the latter because it serves no purpose. They still get to find money under their pillow and they’re no worse off for knowing where it actually comes from.

We loved Santa and looked at sears catalogs to write all the things Santa needed to bring us.
At least Santa is still around.
