I don't have a problem with letting the dog have free roam of the apartment but what is the limit a dog can go without using the bathroom?

I've got a Staffordshire Terrier and a Boykin Spaniel.

That damn Boykin Spaniel is the strangest dog I've ever owned. Never seen anything like it. She's a hell of a dog though
. Smart as shite, but mischievous. They are beautiful dogs but you've gotta groom them. Great for hunting but also great family dogs and super loyal to their owners.

But she don't hold a candle to my staffordshire.

When a puppy, general rule is one hour per month for their age. For example, a two month old puppy can hold their bladder for two hours.

This will vary though based upon exercise level (stimulation) and availability of water intake.

Ideally, you'll want to take your dog out (as a puppy) approximately 15 minutes after playing with them or after meal time.

An adult dog can hold it on average 8 hours or more, depending upon the breed. My Doberman will use the bathroom around 5:30 in the morning to pee and won't pee again until 6 p.m. that evening, if she is calm and confined.

Below is a picture of my girl.

Our Kangal wedging himself between my wife and I.

He is my most and least favorite dog ever. He's extremely intelligent. He can take care of himself. He's protective of my wife.

He's also extremely dog aggressive with any dog near his size or in our yard if he doesn't know them.

He will be our only dog until he passes. But with an average lifespan of 14 years, we're going to have his big arse for a while.

Kangals aren't regular dogs. They are calm predators who love you. The same dog who sleeps with a stuffed animal at night baits coyote into his yard so he can hunt them.

I've never had any dog even somewhat like him before.

He is good. Still has 2 spots bit the rest of his coat is nice shiny and soft. The hairless spots are a lost smaller but they are still there. What are you feeding? I have both dogs on Victor still.

As you know, Victor is a very good brand.

But I discovered a brand called Sport Dog 26/18. You can find it on Chewy. It's also rated 5 * at Dog Food Advisor. 40 lb. bag runs about $53 which is not bad per pound for a premium brand of dog food.

Her coat has never looked better. The missing patches of hair are now gone and best of all, no more benign cysts. As much as I liked A Taste of the Wild dog food, this is by far the best food I have ever given to her.

Favorite dog I've owned is a Springer spaniel.

I like the setter family but never have had one.

That’s what makes dogs special. They’re animals who will let your kid play dentist on them, get jealous when you pet another dog, eat poo, roll in dead stuff, and kill stuff.

mine has held it 18-20 hours for the few emergent situations when i was unable to let her out sooner.

i know a person whose job requires them to be away from home for 24 hours plus commute. they are a dog owner of two. i think this person gets help now that he has two dogs from some fat, ugly, dumb, thieving, stealing, spineless, heartless dog walker though.
-so yeah, i can give you the dog walker's number if you like.

I've had several great labs, and always thought they were the perfect dog. Loyal, smart, great with kids, protective when they need to be, highly trainable. Then I got a Goldendoodle! All the qualities of the lab, but no shedding or dander. Everyone that has ever met my dog, loves him. Thinking about getting another

Border Collies get mentioned a lot. They're incredible dogs, but take a lot of work as an owner. They get bored easily and need a lot of exercise. Unfortunately, a lot of border collies get adopted and then the owners realize they're not cut out for a genius level hyper dog and give them up. We got our last BC from a rescue. Cal is the best dog I've ever had.

I'm a hound guy. I had a basset for 10 years and had to put her down, and now I have a bloodhound.
