re: What are your experiences with snow?

I agree with Roger. Huge difference between wet snow and dry snow. Wet snow sucks. We get that usually twice a year at the beginning and the end of the season. The rest of the time you can just brush it off with a broom unless you get a big dump. Then after that, it just melts in a couple of days so you don't have to deal with all the crusty gray, dirty slush.

I've seen snow only three times in my life.

Lived in Alaska a few years. I f**king hate snow and that state. Glad I maybe get it 2-3 days a year in Tennessee.
Skiing, sledding, all that crap all gets old fast. Had annual passes to a few hills and took up cross country skiing to try and make the miserable months pass faster, but glad to be gone from there.

It’s pretty when falling, but hell to shovel after it freezes.

I've only seen two significant (at least for Louisiana) snowfalls in my life...one was in 1988, and the other in 2008. I think we got about 2" of snow on the ground in Baton Rouge in '88, and 6" in St. Tammany in '08. It was fun. I wouldn't mind an '08 type of snow every two or three years.
I have family in Canada and they send us pictures after it snows there...it's pretty but frick living in it.
My grandmother came from Oregon. She said she would rather have a Louisiana summer over an Oregon winter any day. She said the worst is when it melted and turned everything into sludge for a month.

I went to the beach and had a BBQ that Christmas. In Australia.
If it snows down there for Christmas, then the whole planet is fricked.

Get all my favorite foods before it comes and sit around the house and eat good while it is here.

We take our dogs up to Flagstaff once a winter to go play in the snow. I did not mind the snow.....for a few hours.
Driving in it terrifies me. I’m very, very clumsy so skiing or snowboarding seems almost suicidal to me.
I've lived in Flagstaff. The most dangerous thing about driving on snow covered roads is a driver from southern Arizona.

Live in northern ohio. Love snow. Have a snowmobile and a jeep. Done everything possible with snow all growing up. But, if it's not a deep snow, I hate snow. Gotta have enough to do something with it

It's a long story. Read my book when I write it.

It's fun but expensive

Did she live in the mountains? PNW winters are pretty mild other than up in the mountains.

Just went for a drive to a frozen lake. Beautiful fresh snow, no wind, perfectly comfortable. No issues driving, perfect winter day before Thanksgiving

Yes, they lived in logging country up near the Washington/Oregon state line. My great-grandfather and his sons logged the trees and ran a sawmill.

always complaining about Alaska, I swear somebody fricked you over up here ha.
I've been up here about 2 years now. Love it, never gets old.
Were you perhaps stationed on base?
If so I know why you hate Alaska
