Yeah. That’s working for what? 8 months out of the year?

That's not too shabby for having summers off and basically a stress free job.

We start back Monday, although I taught summer school from May 29th through June 29th and have had a few online meetings since then.

Talking relative to a corporation or business where constant decisions need to be made.

Yikes. After 10 years, ours is $66,000 and after 15 years it’s, $76,000.

Look teachers are under stress, plenty of it compared to other jobs.
You have students who need to perform
You have observations where you need to perform and the students
You haven't parents on your arse
You have classroom management
You have grades at certain time

Etc....

It is not as easy as some of said in the past and I've offered to give up a week of my time to let people experience it. A teacher now days plays more roles than just an educator as you are a parent to these kids as well. Out of 80+ kids I have I get called "dad" a couple of times a day. I also deal with a lot of stupid drama that I really should not have to.

I've worked in the "corporate" world before teaching and while deadlines are stressful I can say teaching eclipses that due to the fact every week is a deadline. We have essentially 8 weeks to get 18 grades in and you have to be flexible or that last week is stressful. You also have to make sure your "grades" or are grade level or you can receive a write up and multiple of those means you are looking for a new job or back to school.

Went to a convention in Miami and spent some time down on south beach. Fall camp starts up here for us in about two weeks and I just got promoted to linebackers coach so I’m currently working with some other coaches from around the country talking about schemes.

do you know what I do for a living? It isn’t babysitting. And I love the line “you couldn’t make it in teaching!”

As if we don’t all know some borderline retarded girls that ended up teachers because they couldn’t do anything else
