Just got back into town from the MS Gulf Coast so nothing is ready. Prepping turkey and sausage gumbo for tomorrow. Maybe a crawfish mac and cheese for Tuesday.

Gf made smothered pork chops and loaded potatoes and brought it over. I have had a pretty worrying health situation lately and it's the first real hot meal I've had and been able to keep down in a long, long time. Also have all kinds of snacks. Will use the downtime to recover physically and emotionally. The weather is probably a Godsend.

I got one of those $17 corned beef flats from Rouses. I grinded up some mustard seeds, added it to my brisket rub and threw that bad boy on the smoker.

Pastrami is my go to deep freeze food.

Friday: chili
Saturday: grillades & grits
Sunday: roast turkey with broccoli rice and s’mores brownies

Got the carcass simmering now for a stock to make gumbo tomorrow.
