What part of Atlanta do you live in?

By "pretentious" do you mean upper class areas where people are educated, take care of their property, hold other people accountable for their actions, and are involved in their community/schools?
No, its the upper middle class people who think they are Bill Gates.
Actual rich people are less miserable than the posers. Being the biggest fish in a small pond doesn't do much for most people.

Naples is far more pretentious than Marco. I mean, there's a Ferrari dealership next to the Walmart. Where else does that happen?
I just don't believe that anyone on this site considers either to be the south since everything west of 75 is transplants.

Boca Raton, Fl
(Though I’d allow a downvote bc Boca isn’t really the South except for its geography being more south than other southern areas)

There are no pretentious areas. The people who think so just have inferiority complexes.

Brentwood (West of 65) Stay out of Brentwood Lebowski…

As a local I’d agree
I think my favorite part of the Brentwood insanity is that most of these people bought their houses for less than $750k and act like they are mega millionaires because they could sell them for 3mil. They’d have to move to Grundy county to pocket much of that cash but whatever.

Checking in from Watercolor Inn. The valet laughed when I rolled up in a Pilot.
