Can a family member transport a pistol to and from a range, not concealed, that is registered to a relative?
TIA
Edit: That was fast, thanks!
Edit 2: RA'd for anchor.
Thanks to all for the serious answers.

Guns aren't registered in LA. You can let whoever you want borrow it.

Your gun isn't registered to anyone

Sure. It doesn't matter as long as said family member is legal to possess it. If it isn't reported stolen than no worries.

all guns in Louisiana were lost in a boating accident

Well that’s just not true. You can’t let your pedophile multi felon sisters baby daddy use your revolver while he is “selling CD’s” (aka dealing drugs) because it is a felony to transfer a firearm to a known prohibited person.

Remember, it's always good to have a second set of prints on a gun.

In hindsight, an active volcano was a terrible location to plan a fishing trip.

No such thing.

No different than letting a bud use one of your guns on a hunting trip or on the range

Especially if it's a dirty cop's prints.

The government has to go back to the original seller to trace a gun by serial number. They have to keep the original purchaser's info. So the government contacts them for a weapon used in a crime. Private sales throw that out the window because I can sell a gun to some random dude in a Walmart parking lot completely legally. It's on him to be legal to possess it. We don't know who owns what as it should be.
