Are they adding a third lane? I hate that they are cutting down all the trees between the lanes.

"Consider Your Ways" needs to make a comeback there.

Honestly, all of I-12 should have another lane.

Adding an extra lane to the wrong section if I-12. This should happen east of the the tchefunte on the eastbound side.

While we're on the subject of I-12, any baws on here know what the hell they're doing around Hammond? They appear to be adding a concrete inside shoulder that slopes down about 20 degrees and is about 10 feet wide. No idea what that could be.

If they had the capacity to think forward, they’d add 2 lanes instead of 1.

I think they are widening a section of it in Covington.

Eventually they will widen it between Satsuma and Hammond.

And then the sound barrier walls will go up to continue the march towards ruining St Tammany and turning it into NOLA East.

My guess is they are doing the easy part first and will tackle the overpasses(21) later.

That's the plan for all 86 miles. They're working their way through Livingston Parish now.

Much of the work timing is a replacement of damaged bridges. Traffic has been well above the predictions of the original plans. There are two unconnected bridge replacements between satsuma and Hammond.

My guess is these bridges couldn’t wait. As funds come available they will fill in between to widen all of I-12. Bridges are the most expensive and time consuming generally.

Advocate article a few years back.
