German Shepherds aren't "cold weather" dogs.

I know they aren't huskies but I would imagine their coats aren't that much different
Admittedly, I don't know much about GS's or huskies

I'm partial to herding breeds. Shepherds and Collies.
I've always loved shelties for medium to smaller size dogs. German Shepherds or Rough Collies for large size. I own a sheltie now and it's the best dog I have ever had.
These are little more laid back than Aussies and a lot more laid back than Border Collies.
Highly intelligent dogs that can be taught all kinds of shite. Once you get a smart dog, you can never want to own a dumb breed again.
Big negative is management of their coats, requires a lot of brushing and a lot of shedding.

German Shorthaired Pointer.... gotta have a lot of time for them though because they require above average exercise.

Yep Frenchies are the most loving breed I have ever owned. Funny dogs too. Mini daschund close second. Got two Frenchies currently

Our newest addition is a female English bulldog. Such a goofy little butter ball should have named her miss piggy as i think the breed has more in common with pigs than dogs.
Only con so far is the shedding

I'd like to put in my .02$ for the Greman Shorthaired Pointer. I have/had 2 of them up until last week. My female got into something and she didn't make it. She put out 32 puppies in 3 litters. Everyone person who got one of her puppies love them also.

Me too.
I grew up with a border collie in Gentilly Woods(NOLA).
She didn't like the black man.

Best dog we ever had! Smart, great with kids, and very protective!!

Have a Dalmatian. He's great. They get a pretty bad reputation because of a lot of irresponsible breeding (inbreeding) to meet demand because of 101 Dalmatians. I've had plenty of other breeds growing up, but this dal is the sweetest and most loyal dog I've ever owned and smart as a whip. Very easily trained.Get one from a reputable, registered breeder and you will not regret it.

We're in Austin so we drove up and stayed overnight and made a weekend out of it. We got ours in August and she's been an amazing dog.
We got the F1B standard, she's more of an apricot color with a curly coat. The SO wanted a mini but the wait-list for one was stupid.

Get a stuffed animal that you can leave at home when you go to restaurants, shopping, and on trips.

Anyone have a aussie? I want to get another dog to keep my beagle company. Will they do well with other dogs? How are they with kids? Are they good health wise? Are the females smaller than the males?

Had two English bulldogs years ago. Very cute when puppies. Kinda grow up drooling and have skin issues but I like em. Either sleeping or eating once puppy stage is over. Lol
