Yes, there's no way it's profitable as a business, based on math alone, not to mention the intangible but very real financial risk of operating a gypsy cab (no auto physical damage coverage for the driver).

I've long thought our society is plagued by an inability to do basic math, and every Uber driver I've encountered confirms my feelings. People who decide to drive Uber aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Uber's last rate slash really fricked up the profitability

you basically have to have specific routes/times down to a science to really make it worth it

I went back to the table at Harrah's after a 5 year absence and did well. Had some rustiness but overall played ok

Find a handful of markets or teams and get to know them really really well in terms of what is profitable and what isn't. Electronic tickets makes things so much easier. No holding costs, no shipping, instantaneous transactions that can be done for you 24/7/365 once uploaded.

I do windshields on the side . You don't have to fool with replacements but can make decent money doing crack repairs if you'd like. I do both but honestly, repair is much better than replacements.

Saturday the 17th. I can't explain why I haven't played there in so long. I've played there 8 times and finished up 7 times.

The guy earlier they said being patient is right.

well yeah being patient is just part of the deal. that was more of my point about knowing how to play

you can't LAG a bunch of call stations. you have to wait until you hit a big hand and make them call you down (and avoid having your set run down by a flush like i did the other night). i fricked up b/c my set play was geared for online and not live and even though i still had the equity to call i should have thought about it more

No one wants their Uber to pick them up in a 15 year old Audi with melted ice cream all over the seat anyway.

I was getting frustrated earlier with not getting any hands and playing too many shitty cards. I got pocket 9's twice, played them way too strong, and got fricked on both flops.

Isn't this essentially dead? In the early to mid 2000s there were windshield repair shops on every corner. Friend of mine said he made 700k one year. He had a fake office in St Francisville cuz the taxes in BR were draconian IIrC. It was really a racket

I used to go to thrift stores and look for clutch vintage t-shirts. They were 25c to 50c usually. Then I would sell them on eBay for $10-20. Best one I found was a Georgia Tech 1980 national championship t-shirt. Bought it for 25c, sold it for $50.

As long as people have cracks in their windshield it isn't dead. I do just fine with it. Nowhere near 700k though

ever such tale contains a brief reference to events, which although they happen seldom, happened this time.

that's why its called a gamble.

Start an online nationalist/separatist movement presenting a fake relocation compound up in Idaho and see how many white nationalists donate to the "cause" or to purchase rain barrels and other equipment to become "self-sufficient" and "off-grid."

That, or else forage stuff located at dump sites in wealthier towns and refurnish the products to upsell online.
