Just getting a broader perspective. I don't see anything wrong with that. This site has a larger capacity.

I just like how a fellow Aggie calls me out on TD. PowerTool was a good choice.

If they would have destroyed our carier fleet or a good portion of it, they would have been able to vastly increase their holdings and strategic resources. And it would have worked.

So the mistake would be, "not catching our carrier fleet in the Pearl Harbor invasion or quickly thereafter.

It only cost them because neither of them were prepared for the harsh Russian winters

that's one of the dumbest things I have ever read and it's "world" superpower not "national" superpower. All slavery ended in America in 1865 and America wasn't considered a world superpower until the end of WW2 in 1945. 80 YEARS LATER. America became a world power because of 2 reasons:

slaves probably sped up the development and growth of a new country by 50 percent! The country might not have been ready to break from the mother land when it did without slaves... just saying...

there's a good book that touches on this, the need for labor, and how to keep the newly freed slaves in the south, I think it's called "Rising Tide," seems some of the impetus for fair and ethical treatment of former slaves was from a very unlikely source, Mississippi they also tried to entice immigrants from Europe to relocate to MS, as a labor source

We were very lucky that our carrier fleet wasn't there. The Japs also decided not to bomb the fuel tanks...big mistake.

the sale of the state of alaska by Russia to the United states in the late 1800s...the place turned out not only to be in a strategically important location, but also is loaded with both gold and oil

sold for a grand sum of about $7 million dollars....

That's dumb. The US didn't become a world power till after WW1 and didn't become The Superpower until after WW2. Well after slavery ended.

I just said the same thing you did. I think I read that after WW2, the US owned something like 90% of all shipping ships in the world. That alone is just mindboggling.
