Got a cabbie like that in Vegas.

We were a 5 minute walk from our hotel, it was humid as frick, i was tired, so we got in cab line, he drives up we get in , he asks where 2, then begins to whine and cry about how close it is to walk. I told him, it would be well worth his time, he continues to whine and cry, and bitch.

I told him, see this $50, it was going to be all yours for getting out of line for a short cab ride, but you can go frick yourself now. He was hoping for some drunks who were off the strip, and he still wouldn't of got a $50 tip from them. Dumbass

I use Lyft.

And the most common demographic is 40+ black men. I've never had an issue with any of my drivers that I can recall.

All kinds, all walks of life. Used them all coast to coast. One of the most interesting was a cool older white dude in of all places, Dothan Al this summer right after they intro'd Uber.

He had a hopped up CTS with aftermarket blower / stick shift, phucking fast. Everything was going great when he was taking me and the wife back from Cowboys to the hotel when I revealed i was an LSU fan (I saw his Auburnt sticker on the back)...he slammed on the brakes and pulled over and told me to get the hell out...he was just messing around, was hilarious.

A couple young engineers at work Uber on the weekends every now and then to make some extra cash. They seem like decent guys.

I’ve used Uber several times and never had a bad experience. Back in the day when I used to have to take cabs, I can’t ever remember actually having a good experience.

Baton Rouge is all black women with the occasional black male.

Uber is horrible. My last two or three rides were in cars that should not pass inspection much less be used for a ride service.

Lyft is much better about quality control and they give out promos all the time.

This holds true in the northeast, except it’s foreigners instead of blacks.

Used Lyft this weekend in Boston to/from the airport and got a 30ish Hispanic woman who was awesome and a 20ish Hispanic guy who didn’t say 2 words the whole ride.

Tried to use Uber both times and each time it was $10 more.

Used Uber for the first time the weekend of the LSU-Tech game. Got a ride from the hotel to the Student Union on Friday and Saturday, and back to the hotel Friday. I was surprised that none of the drivers could tell us how far we had to walk to be able to get an Uber after the game. One of the drivers didn’t even know contraflow was a thing. Also the first driver that was supposed to pick us up from the Student Union on Friday circled around campus twice, took wrong turns, then bailed on us and told us to find another driver. You would think drivers around the LSU area would be thoroughly familiar with the campus and game day procedures.

We ended up taking my son’s car that was parked at his dorm back to the hotel after the game and just brought it back to him Sunday morning.

ETA: All 3 of our drivers were middle aged white men with SUVs, and they all seemed just a little strange.

Most of the ones I have had have been great, especially in a city I've never been to. Conversation and nice.
