My stupid frickin roommate is a 21 year old LSU student

One day in November or December she asked me if see can start a fire. I said that I would check on getting the gas cut on at the condo on Monday

Monday rolls around and I forget. She asks me and I tell her I promise I'll check tomorrow

She says "do you have a gas can? Cause I don't mind going to get it myself."

This is the same chick that loaded the dishwasher with dawn and flooded my kitchen with suds the first week she moved in. She also overflowed the washing machine once.

That it is possible to be in four states at once: Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico. People look at me like I just discovered fire.

Also, some people in Phoenix have never seen snow.

Flagstaff is just two hours away.

I don't think many people know this. Not like it's common knowledge.

I didn't know this - and I pride myself on my knowledge of geography.

Unless you're a teacher, recent student, or parent of a kid in grade school, you might not know that one. It's a recent change.

people don't know the left lane is for passing and that you can't cross a white line.

I didn't know that until I went to club ampersand, and saw the logo. I thought @ was the ampersand.

you thought England was an island, which brought up one of my pet peeves for obvious shite that people don't know.

Frankly, I said that because it's common enough in the states to call the entire thing "England" that most people don't make the distinction. I lived in the uk and am quite aware of the difference. I made the dumb mistake of assuming that the hardlegs on the OT would gloss over that.

While driving a vehicle, when you approach a flashing yellow light, you do not treat it like a stop sign, you do not have to come to a complete stop. If the light is flashing red or if the light is not functioning at all then treat it like a stop sign, come to a complete stop.

d that you can't cross a white line.

I thought crossing the white line meant cross with caution, and double white means no crossing...

quote:

So, to review:
--Broken white line: cross freely.
--Solid white line: crossing discouraged, but not prohibited.
--A double, solid white line: crossing prohibited.

LINK

quote:

SINGLE SOLID WHITE LINE: This is used to channelize traffic and indicates that changing lanes is discouraged, although not specifically prohibited. You can cross it if you have to, but you should avoid it if possible. Even a thick single white line can be crossed if necessary; however, they are really discouraging you from crossing, so you might think twice about it. A single white line is also used simply to mark the right edge of the roadway.

- Cold water weighs more than hot water
- The Earth rotates around the Sun (not the other way around)
- it takes over 8 minutes for light to travel from the Sun to Earth (most people think it happens instantaneously)
- Moon light is actually a reflection of the sun (and some minor reflection of Earth, stars, etc.).
- Shakespeare's daughter was illiterate (not really obvious, but interesting)
