He’s no doubt a smart guy, but he likes to play a role on this board and that involved pissing people off

As far as agency owners, location is everything. Coastal agents are blessed with premium but cursed with claims

Insurance has always sounded like absolute most boring job in the world. No offense. That and insurance companies are fricking vultures that want you to pay up every month but when something big happens like a hurricane its like pulling teeth to make them pay up.

I can help myself, I just choose not to. My favorite gag is to tell some retard I’m trolling them and still make them lose their marbles

Definitely not glamorous, but the renewal comp on a large book of business makes it very appealing over a long period of time. You’re making money whether you’re in office or not. It’s allowed me to be there through high school for both of my kids

I have not read the thread but did we manage to turn this into a trades argument? Did the usual trades vs no trade cast members show?

This guy isn't blue collar...he is Bechtel's NQA-1 Welding SME....he managed their entire NQA-1 welding program nation wide and managed their welding QA program worldwide for about 35 years. He is also a pretty good welder but he hasn't earned a living welding since he separated from the nuclear navy.....

I actually took a CAT adjuster course a little while back now just to see what it’s all about. I can see how a CAT adjuster makes money but your average auto adjuster from somewhere like Progressive gets paid what they would make working the fry counter at Wendys. Hey as long as it has worked for you and yours thats all that matters. I have the best office view in the world so I cant complain either. If I were a regional pilot having to do 45 min turnovers 4-6x a day would be another story. It’s pretty damn easy to take off in Denver and land in Tokyo or Seoul with time between my return trip.

I figured it would go that way.

None of these threads are really changed. My opinion that much. I think smart kids should go to college. I think Rich kid should go to college. And I think learning to be a plumber is an excellent option for a less intelligent kid kid with financial resources. I think a plumber can carve out a good living is an employee with potential to be excellent if you could own your own company. But people get caught up on all these crazy arguments in these threads.

People start threads like this all the time, hate hearing the truth and get butt hurt and then proceed to hate and frick with you. It’s par for the course

Knew a guy who had a mobile ultrasound business. He made serious money doing that. Mostly working for vets, but some human patients also. In the 400 k range

Oh yeah it’s ridiculously competitive. I appreciate you responding.
I’m just at a point where I’ve spent too much just getting ASEL Commercial done and will probably just have to wait a few years to get started on multi. That’s the next goal.

I would be pissed if the fire dept was standing there with 5 different ways to open doors and they were just waiting on some one to show up to pry the door open.

I used to be a firefighter and that's kinda how it went on my first stuck elevator call. It was below the floor it was supposed to be on. We opened the outer doors and there was probably 3 feet of space they could crawl through if they could grab the edge of the floor and hoist themselves up. However, my Sargeant said we couldn't do anything until the elevator tech got there.

There were 3 people in it and one of the guys was super pissed off. He said he was going to hoist himself up and climb out. We told him he could if he could physically do it, but it was at his own risk because it was against the law for us to extricate anyone unless it was a true emergency situation. I had no clue about that until that moment. The guy ended up trying, and succeeding after a couple pathetic tries at first. He got a bunch of grease and shite all over his white dress shirt from the track the doors utilize to open and close that is just under the edge of the floor. He was not happy at all with us, but we weren't gonna break the law be cause he was late for his appointmemt.

Probably what I do. I'm no genius. I just have managed to hit the lottery, career wise, in the past few months.

Get your CFI when you're able. Airlines love CFI time because it shows you’re capable of flying the aircraft as well as teaching others to fly which means you’re able to adapt to different situations. As far as ASEL you can look for pipeline jobs or things like sky diving pilot. You can do both with ASEL and 400-500 hours. That way you're getting paid while building time. Keep reaching for whatever it is you want in life. You’ll have good days and days you just want to say screw it all but always remember hard work will eventually pay off. Hope to see you on the flight deck of a wide body one day!

CAT adjuster

I have a classmate that is on a CAT team with Geico, she is doing really well, makes well over 100k a year but she travels a lot. I have another close friend of mine who is on the CAT team with State Farm, been with them for 25 years he's making closer to 200k.
